Affects of Neonicotinoids on Bumble Bees
Every bee-like pollinator has its own special set of effects they suffer from the neonicotinoids. This article will describe those of the bumble bee. To bumble bees, neonicotinoids are highly toxic. They can result in less food consumption, reproduction, worker survival rates, and foraging activity which in turn leads to less colony survival. Due to the queen bumble bees having reduced reproduction rates, the number of colonies consistently decrease over years.
